On 1 December 2025, Decree No. 429/2025 Coll. came into force, amending the current Decree No. 37/2017 Coll. on electronic cigarettes, their refills, and herbal smoking products.

The state launched a large-scale inter-ministerial operation originally aimed at synthetic cannabinoids and kratom. The result? Blanket blocking of e-shops – including those selling legal CBD products with all documentation in order.

The hemp industry in the Czech Republic does not suffer from a lack of interest, entrepreneurial energy, or consumer demand. It suffers from a lack of bold and consistent state policy.
